Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 Kelly Slater Limited Edition A173751A1O1S1

Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 Kelly Slater Limited Edition A173751A1O1S1

Co-designed by surfing's GOAT himself

This next-generation Breitling Superocean diver revisits the distinctive, pared-down aesthetic of the original SuperOcean Slow Motion chronograph from the 1960s and 1970s, yielding a highly technical tool watch that marries a fully modern and thoughtfully engineered case design with just the right amount of nostalgia.

Water-resistant to 300 m (1000 ft), this new three-handed design is characterized by broad hands and oversized hourly indexes coated liberally in Super-LumiNova® that allow for exceptional readability underwater. Its uni-directional rotating dive bezel is topped with a scratchproof ceramic insert designed to resist wear and fading from sunlight exposure.

Best of all, the Slow Motion’s distinctive square minute hand has made a comeback. So has the high-contrast minute scale. Vintage dive watch fans will also remember “the dot,” a circular window at 6 o’clock that displayed different colors depending on whether the minutes-based chronograph was engaged, paused, or off. In the new Superocean, a circle near the tip of the second hand gives a wink to that much-loved detail.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, this cheerful orange-dialed reference was co-designed by 11-time World Surf League champion Kelly Slater himself, using a color scheme inspired by a watch Slater's father used to wear while surfing. It is finished with an olive drab rubber strap and Breitling's new ratcheting clasp.
